| Lacerations, burns and scarring It is common in a motor vehicle accident (car accident, boat accident, ATV accident, motorcycle accident) that a person will suffer facial lacerations from broken shards of glass or other objects. It is also not uncommon for shards of glass to remain embedded in the skin for many years, or even decades, after an accident.
