I was involved in a car accident on Sept 9/2009. The car that hit me on the drivers side door was at fault and was charged by the police. I started feeling pain right away in my neck, left shoulder, upper back and really back headaches. I have been going to the therapy since then, however last Monday the clinic that i attend told me that the treatment plan ended and that they put in a new one and were waiting for the adjuster to approve it, but it'll be two weeks that i haven't gotten treatments. I would just like to know, is this normal. I am very frustrated and in alot of pain. I am thinking about suing. When is the right time to file a lawsuit. Do i have to wait to see if my injuries are permanent or not? In my opinion, since the accident, i haven't gotten any better, does that make my injuries permanent? I am sorry, my english is not very good.

I like your site. Even when riding on bike paths, bicyclists still must be aware of automobile traffic, especially when the paths intersect with heavily travelled streets.

With the standards we have today, we will always have safe drivers and unsafe drivers, all sharing the same roads. As long as we follow safety tips and traffic rules, we are in a safe zone (though it’s a bi-cycle or heave vehicle). Hard hitting facts but with a dash of humour and thanks for the stop and share.

Hi William,
Thanks for visiting the blog. You've offered an interesting perspective. I play men's ice hockey and many of the players that I play with have a similar attitude toward wearing protective face masks. They argue that players keep their sticks down and play more carefully when other players around them are not wearing face masks. Errant pucks and sticks happen regardless of how careful players try to be. Every season I see players with no face masks lose teeth and get cut open. This simply doesn't happen to the players wearing face masks. I believe the same can be said for wearing a helmet when riding a bike. If I am in a collision on my bike for whatever reason, I would rather be wearing a proper helmet than not.

I don't think it is clear at all that wearing a helmet is safer. You should read the CTC information at http://www.ctc.org.uk/DesktopDefault.aspx?TabID=4689 there is lots of evidence against helmet use as well.

Would it be good for people riding in cars to wear helmets as well? It's not like they don't have serious head injuries when in an accident.

Thanks for giving information on insurance claims. And this is really one of the important things which need to be done and taken care of when any uncertain happens like accidents or theft. Some of the car insurance really provides benefits and no fault insurance claim. I have purchased a car and was searching for a good insurance which not only give the protection for my car but also the benefits and claims for any uncertainty happens. So this will be really helpful to me and my family when ever we travel. I have really found some of the insurance where it has provided the entire details of the insurance schemes or policies and the benefits offered by the car insurance which will also helps to save money insurance. Thanks David for this informative post.
