Ottawa Injury Lawyer surprised that Ottawa Police laid 229 distracted driving charges and 275 no seatbelt charges in August.

Ottawa Injury Lawyer David Hollingsworth and Associates…Ottawa Police have laid more than 500 charges as a result of Ottawa’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program. Last month, Ottawa Police pulled over 229 distracted drivers  and  275 drivers in Ottawa were caught not wearing a seatbelt. I’m very surprised by these statistics and urge ALL drivers and passengers to wear a seatbelt and put away all electronic devices. It’s absolutely imperative that when you are driving , you are absolutely focussing on the road and your surroundings.  Distracted driving not only jeopardizes your life, but the lives of others. Please, please drive safely.I know it is tempting to answer that call, or respond to a text, but there is a time and place for everything and driving is no the time or place. I hope to see these staggering statistics lower in Ottawa.
