I wish both men in the accident a speedy recovery… OTTAWA — An elderly woman is dead and two other people were in hospital Monday afternoon after a collision at the intersection of Albion Road and Rideau Road in the city’s south end. The first person on the scene of the accident was an off-duty Ottawa paramedic who arrived at about just before 5 p.m Ottawa paramedics said a 72-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car in which she was a passenger, a man believed to be in his mid-70s, suffered serious head injuries and was taken to hospital in serious but stable condition. The 45-year-old man driving the other vehicle was taken to hospital with neck and back injuries. Albion Road was closed between High Road and Mitch Owens Road, and Rideau Road was closed between Bowesville Road and Highway 31 until further notice. Ottawa Police were investigating the accident.
