Fatal Ottawa Car Accident, Tragic Death, Ottawa Car Accident Lawyer David Hollingsworth

Ottawa Car Accident Lawyers David Hollingsworth..My thoughts are with the friends and family of Justin McNaughton…What a tragedy and I am so sorry for the loss of Justin, who sounds like he was a wonderful kid.  Accidents like this should not happen… What was supposed to be a fun, relaxing night around a bonfire turned to a terrible tragedy when a young man in his 20s died after he was struck by a car in Ottawa’s west end early last Saturday. Friends said  Justin McNaughton was someone who always had a smile on his face. “He was always happy, everyone knew him as a happy kid, he was never rude,” said Taylor Moffatt, 18. “He was just the funniest guy to be around.”

Police Const. Alain Boucher said Justin was crossing the street with friends after attending a party at 4810 Brophy Dr. when he was in a car accident and hit by a Honda Accord at 12:30 a.m. The male driver of the Honda did not have any personal injuries. Police said McNaughton and a friend had crossed Brophy Drive, mistakenly believing an approaching eastbound pickup truck was their ride. When the vehicle passed them by, the pair attempted to return to the other side of the street. It was then that the Honda hit McNaughton. Matt Brophy, 19, said he had invited a group of friends to his house for a farewell party before they all left for university and college. Brophy had just graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic High School. Brophy said his older brother also invited some friends, including McNaughton.“It was a calm, fun party – we had the music going,” Brophy said, adding that he went to sleep around midnight and didn’t find out about the accident until the morning. On Saturday morning, Brophy and his friend Johnny Senuik, 19, were outside the house cleaning from the night before, placing empty beer bottles and cans into a wheelbarrow. “We were all just going our separate ways, we were going to have one last shindig,” Senuik said. He said the last time he spoke to McNaughton was when the two were reminiscing around the bonfire. “As far as I knew, he was nice as pie.” Moffatt said Brophy’s father kept watch throughout the night and was arranging for parents to pick up their kids or have them go home with someone who was sober. She said police tried to keep everyone away from the scene. “Everyone was just on the ground crying.” Police are still investigating and no charges have been laid. Information provided by  The Ottawa Citizen.
