Kingston Car Accident Lawyer, Kingston Personal Injury Lawyers David Hollingsworth – Sadly and tragically, a 10-year-old girl and an 18-year-old girl from the Battersea area are dead after a devastating 2 vehicle crash in Kingston. Kingston Police have not released any information about the relationship between the victims or their names but death notices placed in today’s newspaper by the family identify the victims as Kaitlyn Lowther, 18, and her sister, Amy, 10. “It’s just a horrible, horrible thing,” said Const. Mike Menor, of Kingston Police. The girls were in a small car driven by a 19-year-old man that collided with a transport truck Monday evening at the intersection of Kingston Mills Road and Battersea Road. The male driver is believed to be the boyfriend of the 18-year-old victim who died in the crash. He was injured and was taken to hospital. Information about his condition was not released. The crash happened just after 6 p.m. Monday. The car was heading west on Kingston Mills Road when it collided with the southbound truck, according to police. The impact severely damaged the small car and sent it hurtling off the road. The car came to rest in a cornfield, upside down, about 15 metres from the west shoulder of the two-lane road.Pieces were strewn around the area and the gas tank was torn from the vehicle. Kingston firefighters had to pry all three victims from the wreck. The truck driver was not hurt. After the collision, the truck veered off the road and into the ditch where it narrowly missed a utility pole and then steered back onto the road. It left the road again, with the cab ending up in the east ditch. The trailer remained upright, blocking both lanes of Battersea Road. The road was closed for roughly 17 hours while police investigators documented and analysed the crash site. The wreckage was removed by 10 a.m. Tuesday and the road was reopened at about 11 a.m.
