Ottawa personal injury lawyer David Hollingsworth, Ottawa Accident Lawyer…This is such a sad story.. The funeral mass for Alex Zolpis, the young man who died early Christmas Eve in an Ottawa parking garage accident, will be held today. May he rest in peace…My thoughts go out to the Zolpis family…and friends of Alex…
Longtime friend Jack Tobin, son of former Newfoundland and Labrador premier Brian Tobin, was charged with impaired and dangerous driving. The incident happened in a downtown Ottawa parking garage where police were summoned after reports that a man was pinned under a truck. The family of the man killed in the accident is calling his death an accident.
Tobin, 24, was released on $100,000 bond on Christmas Day. Zolpis’s family has requested that donations in Alex’s memory be made to Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Justin Sharp, who had been friends with Zolpis since childhood and saw him moments before the accident, remembered him on Facebook. “Alex Zolpis was a high-spirited, intelligent and very kind individual. He was also very, very funny. He knew how to make you laugh, he was loved very much by his friends and will be greatly missed.” The funeral mass is set for 2 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Basilica in Ottawa with a reception to follow at a local hotel.
