Ottawa Lawyer : What is Ontario slip and fall compensation ?
Posted by Ottawa Personal Injury Lawyer, Ottawa Accident Lawyer, David Hollingsworth in Ottawa Injury and Accidents, Personal Injury Claims on January 5th, 2012
Ottawa Injury Lawyer David Hollingsworth…
Ontario, Ottawa Pedestrian Injury Lawyer David Hollingsworth. David has a lot of experience with individuals who have sustained slip and fall injuries while in a store and have slipped and fell from either poor maintenance of the floor itself (elevated or cracked), or it is slippery from a spill of a liquid of some sort. Putting a sign saying the floor is wet is simply not enough to prevent a serious injury, ensuring the floor is dry will prevent the injury. The same goes for a damaged floor. If a floor is wet or damaged it should be fixed immediately. That is the responsibility of the store. If you suffer a serious injury, there is compensation available to you and that is where the best Ottawa personal injury lawyers can help.
What Can You Do if you slip or fall in a store and suffer a serious injury?
If you are shopping and see something that appears unsafe within a store, do your part and tell an employee or a manager. If we all do our part we can prevent Ottawa slip and fall injuries.
Ottawa Personal Injury Lawyer David Hollingsworth’s Experience
David has had many clients who have been unfortunate enough to slip and fall within a store and have experienced severe, neck, back, leg, arm, spine, and head injuries. David has helped various individuals get through their injuries and receive the compensation they deserve.
Ottawa Personal Injury Lawyer David Hollingsworth has been helping slip and fall injury victims get the help they need after a serious Ontario accident. Ottawa weather expected : heavy wet snowfall up to 15 cm. Please drive safely!, Ottawa Lawyer David Hollingsworth
Posted by Ottawa Personal Injury Lawyer, Ottawa Accident Lawyer, David Hollingsworth in Ottawa Injury and Accidents, safety on December 27th, 2011
Ottawa Weather. Ottawa Personal Injury Lawyer David Hollingsworth….Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Ottawa area tonight night, with up to 15 centimetres of wet snow coming our way overnight. A winter storm watch was upgraded to the snowfall warning early today for the area from Brockville Gatineau, including the City of Ottawa. The snowstorm is expected to start with light rain in the afternoon then turning to wet snow. They say there’s potential for up to 15 centimetres of wet snow by tomorrow morning, with the highest amounts coming along the Ontario/Quebec border and smaller amounts in the St. Lawrence River Valley. There will then be a sharp drop in temperatures, but Environment Canada says there’s not much risk of the flash freeze. Please try your best to stay off the roads. If you need to be out, drive slowly and safely.
Here are a few things to keep in mind when driving in icy conditions:
- Exercise extreme caution after a long dry spell.
- Allow for more travel time.
- Brake earlier and with less force
- Stay toward the middle of the road to avoid deep standing puddles.
- Don’t use cruise control.
- If you see a large puddle up ahead, drive around it or choose a different route.
- Don’t attempt to cross running water.
- After you cross a puddle, tap on your brake pedal lightly to dry off some of the water on your rotors.
- Turn on your headlights
- Watch out for pedestrians.
- If it’s raining so hard that you can’t see the road or the car in front of you, pull over and wait it out.
- Track the car ahead of you.
- Give a truck or bus extra distance.
- Defog your windows.
- If you start to hydroplane, don’t brake suddenly or turn the wheel, or you might spin into a skid.

Ottawa Accident Lawyer David Hollingsworth— The snow that we received here in Ottawa just in time for Christmas was on some levels perfect but Ottawa police say it’s causing chaos on the roads. Cars have been sliding into each other and into ditches all over Ottawa. Ottawa police are continuing to warn drivers to slow down and to stay off Ottawa road, as much as possible. Ontario Provincial Police said there were several accidents on Highways 416 and 417. Thankfully no serious Ottawa accidents had been reported. If you need to be out there tonight, be safe out there on our Ottawa roads and Ontario highways. Happy holidays !!

Ottawa accident Colonel By drive results in serious head injury.
Ottawa Personal Injury Lawyer..An eldrely 83-year-old dog walker was hit by a vehicle on Colonel By Drive near Dow’s Lake yesterday morning. Ottawa paramedics treated the elderly man for a serious head injury. The dog was not hurt. The elderly man was conscious when Ottawa paramedics arrived but drivers who came to the man’s assistance said he had been unresponsive until moments before. The elderly Ottawa man was in serious condition yesterday afternoon in an Ottawa hospital. My thoughts go out to this man, his friends and family. It’s a tough time of year not to have your loved ones at home with you.

Ottawa’s icy road conditions lead to over 70 Ottawa accidents
Ottawa Personal Injury Lawyer David Hollingsworth — Yesterday’s icy weather conditions caused a tractor-trailer to hit 3 vehicles on Greenbank Road between Fallowfield and West Hunt Club roads. As a result of the Ottawa accident, one person was trapped in a vehicle and 3 others suffered serious personal injury.
There were more than 70 Ottawa accidents on Ottawa’s icy roads yesterday according to Ottawa police. The Ottawa Paramedic Service said that Ottawa accidents were “starting to pile up” as Ottawa received 10 to 15 millimetres of freezing rain.
Emergency crews on the Ottawa accident scene at the Greenbank accident were able to extricate the trapped occupant from the vehicle without the need for heavy equipment. Greenbank Road was closed for about two hours. Ottawa Paramedics say 2 people in their 50s suffered neck and back injury. Thankfully, they are in stable condition in an Ottawa hospital.
Ottawa Emergency crews also responded to 25 injuries from slips and falls on slippery Ottawa roads and sidewalks.
