May is motorcycle safety and Ottawa police focusing on drivers running red lights.

Ottawa Police and Ottawa Motorcycle Accidents

Ottawa Personal Injury Lawyers David Hollingsworth and Associates. The Ottawa Police are looking to reduce Ottawa accidents by focusing on drivers who run red lights. There will also be a strong focus on  motorcycle safety this month. Between  2007 and 2011, Ottawa Police helped out with 795 Ottawa area motorcycle accidents, which resulted in  557 people suffering personal injuries  and 14 died as a result of motorcycle accidents.

Drivers who ran red lights were the cause of 4,042 Ottawa area accidents during those same years.  As a result of those Ottawa accidents, 8 people died and 1,875 suffered personal injuries. Ottawa police also noted that 18,000 accidents in Ottawa between 2007 and 2011 were caused by distracted drivers.

I appreciate all the efforts our Ottawa Police are making to keep our roads safe.
